East-enders Helen Battersby and Sarah Battersby, sisters and neighbours who come from a long line of English gardeners, run the blog Toronto Gardens.

With a wealth of information, they offer views and insights from our little neighbourhood and around the world - accompanied by beautiful pictures.

As well as providing great information and stories for all seasons (titles from November include "spicing up the urn" and "the mystery of the unfallen leaves"), they offer a great number of resources for green thumb types and keep us informed about goings-on in the gardening community.

With many gray days ahead before a blanket of snow brightens up our streets, Toronto Gardens is a lovely escape.
